massage-therapyI use a style of massage based on Swedish massage. It’s a medium pressure massage, ideal for reducing muscle tension and at the same time giving you a relaxing, calming experience. It is firmer than an aromatherapy massage but without the sometimes intense pain of a sports or remedial massage.

If there are any areas of tension, pain or limited movement I will give particular attention to these during the course of the massage. I use a firm, focused touch which I will adjust as I feel change happening in the muscles. Tight muscles can feel sore when they are being massaged, but I will always ask you if the level of pressure feels good. I sometimes combine massage with Zero Balancing in situations where this would be beneficial.

At the beginning of the session I will take a short medical history and find out about your current health and what you would like from the treatment.

Following a massage you will feel relaxed and occasionally slightly sore. It’s a good idea to drink plenty of water afterwards, as this will help get rid of any toxins which have been released from your system. Salt baths can also help.

After a massage, people often feel more comfortable and relaxed within themselves, are aware of holding less tension, feel they can move more freely, and have more energy and vitality.

Having a regular massage is a way of maintaining good health, preventing a build up of stress and tension.
